Geranium macrorrhizum“Ingwesren’s Variety”

How we use them

To cover ground beneath seasonal flowering plants, suppressing weeds and providing habitat for insects.

Why we love them

Because they are the ultimate all-rounder! They flower for around six months and are a valuable nectar source for pollinating insects. They cope with a vast range of aspects and soil types and while they do the grunt work in our plantings, they are as beautiful as the more seasonal flowerers.

Habitat

Native to Europe: France, Greece, Romania, and found naturally in mountainous, rocky and shady areas.

Location

Wild Gardens, borders, banks, rockeries. These will thrive in sun or full shade and can tolerate even the driest soil.
