The Brief
To reinstate a dilapidated boundary wall sympathetically, recycling the existing material and mimicking the original style.
How we met the Brief
The wall was carefully deconstructed, and materials organised according to size and type. Additional reclaimed bricks, clay tiles and local sandstone were sourced to supplement the existing. A new footing for the wall was laid before selecting each piece of material individually to achieve its final appearance.
Highlights
Using the existing Sandstone that would have originated from the quarry just a stone’s throw away.
Challenges we Overcame
The garden was only accessible through the house and down a flight of stairs, meaning all material was transported by hand in trugs.
